This is an index post for all the Prince of Tennis fanbook translations I've done! I'll make notes of updates here too, though there won't be any updates for a little while as I've sealed my fanbooks up in preparation for my upcoming move. Also this will be formatted better later but right now I am lazy and LJ is HARD, yo.

A note on the formatting: I'm mashing everything from 10.5, 20.5, and 40.5 together in order to make the profiles more profile.

SEIGAKU
- Kawamura Takashi
- Kaidoh Kaoru

FUDOMINE

ST. RUDOLPH

YAMABUKI

HYOTEI

ROKKAKU *Updated 6/12: Fixed formatting*

RIKKAI

HIGA

SHITENHOUJI

Also please tell me if any of these aren't linked to the right thing ^^;

If you could keep only one of your five senses--taste, touch, smell, sight, or hearing--which would you choose and why?

Touch, you guys, dear god.

I like being able to interact with the environment.

Not being able to feel anything would be weird as hell.

Your result for The Quick & Painless ENNEAGRAM Test...

9 - the Peacemaker

Thanks for taking the test !

you chose BX - your Enneagram type is NINE (aka "The Mediator")

"I am at peace"

Peacemakers are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union with others and the world around them.

How to Get Along with Me

• If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially don't like expectations or pressure.

• I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advantage of this.

• Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit.

• Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge me gently and nonjudgmentally.

• Ask me questions to help me get clear.

• Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery.

• Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings.

• I like a good discussion but not a confrontation.

• Let me know you like what I've done or said.

• Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life.

What I Like About Being a NINE

• being nonjudgmental and accepting

• caring for and being concerned about others

• being able to relax and have a good time

• knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around

• my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good mediator and facilitator

• my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and now

• being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe

What's Hard About Being a NINE

• being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive

• being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline

• being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch of the mouth personally

• being confused about what I really want

• caring too much about what others will think of me

• not being listened to or taken seriously

NINEs as Children Often

• feel ignored and that their wants, opinions, and feelings are unimportant

• tune out a lot, especially when others argue

• are "good" children: deny anger or keep it to themselves

NINEs as Parents

• are supportive, kind, and warm

• are sometimes overly permissive or nondirective

Your result for The Social Persona Test (Version 2.5)...

The Emo Girl (QLBF)

Quirky Liberal Beta Female

You don't have to dress a certain way to be a emo girl at heart. You likely have more spunk than The Librarian (QTBF), which is good, but that attitude that screams "Rescue me" only attracts guys for so long. You are interesting and fun, but non-conformism does not replace self-confidence, a virtue you are in sore need of.

You are more QUIRKY than NORMAL.

You are more LIBERAL than TRADITIONAL.

You are more PASSIVE than DOMINANT.

When picking a date, consider: The Lord of the Misfits (QLAM), The Snowball's Chance in Hell (QTBM), The Manga Geek (QLBM), or That Sports Spectator (NLBM).

The theme would be TENIMYU and I would express it to the customers with Tenimyu music and insane outfits and Kane-chan's nipples.

More thoughts on NPoT

So New Prince of Tennis is still trying to kill me, and probably will succeed, but I can't stop reading it. It's like a disease.

But this month's chapters had something amazing in them: DAN! It looks as though Horio, Dan, and Shiita are going to be the new Ichinen Trio, which is awesome for several reasons:
- DA DA DA DAAAAN!
- Shiita is kind of an adorable little bugger, actually! He has a lisp and a duckmouth and that's precious. I kind of want to take him away from Rikkai because as much as I love Rikkai, they are not to be trusted with adorable babies.
- Horio cracks my shit up, seriously.
- Katsuo and Kachiro are far, far away from the terrible shit that is going down in NPoT.

So that was awesome! And then the heartbreak started.

Side note: Someone please write a fic of Saitou and Kurobe. They're such bastards and are clearly boning each other.

Side side note: Read a little more of the original PoT manga. Yukimura's match against Echizen is all kinds of amazing. Yukimura breaks Echizen down completely, which is incredibly satisfying even though it doesn't last. Also, there are some really heartbreaking flashbacks that reinforced my opinion that Yukimura doesn't play tennis because he likes to but because he has to. That's why he's so devastated by his illness and so desperate to get back to the court; his sense of self-worth comes from his success in tennis. I feel like he was really good at tennis ever since he was like three, and got a lot of praise for being so good at it, and then he associated being good at tennis with being loved, which meant that he couldn't lose or else he'd be worthless and no one would love him anymore. SPECULATION AHOY I know, but that's just the feeling I get based on all that makete wa naranu and yuujou no okite stuff.

"I Told You So" x 2

So today I was over at Mad Brook, which is the best donut shop EVER, and they had CMT on the TV in front of me, so I happened to see Carrie Underwood performing her cover of "I Told You So" by Randy Travis. I about cried in my coffee and not entirely because it reminded me so much of one of my favorite pairings at the moment (or half of it, anyway) but that was definitely a big factor. So like the giant sap that I am, I downloaded it, along with the original Randy Travis version, the Carrie Underwood AND Randy Travis duet version, and a Keith Urban song by the same name that is actually a completely different song! When I listened to the Keith Urban "I Told You So," I was delighted to find that it's almost like an answer to the RT/CU version and fills in the other half of that pairing I was talking about. Basically, the Carrie Underwood song breaks your heart and then the Keith Urban song fixes it. It's pretty awesome.

So for some unfathomable reason, I started reading New Prince of Tennis. I swear it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Actually, I found the premise of New PoT interesting - everybody is on the same team now! amazing! - and felt like maybe if I gave it time to warm up it would get good, or at least bearable. I read the first three chapters and kind of hated it.

Then the next two chapters came out.

Chapter 4 had a match between Momo and one of the high schoolers in which Momo ended up having to play with only his mouth. IT WAS HILARIOUS.

And then in Chapter 5 SHIT GOT REAL. (Spoilers be here, in case someone cares)

Writer's Block: You Don't Know Me

ohshit

Our friends don't always know us as well as they think, particularly when it comes to likes and dislikes. Which popular book, movie, band, food, TV show, etc. would your friends be surprised to hear that you don't like?

View 500 Answers

Usually I don't do these but something came immediately to mind when I saw this question so I just had to answer.

My friends are always completely shocked when I tell them that I don't like "The Office" (the American version, that is).

It's not that I dislike everything about "The Office." I just don't like Jim, I think he's a jerk. I would sum up the philosophy of Jim as "It's okay to be a dick to people as long as they're less attractive than me and/or are awkward human beings, and I am also under no obligation to listen to my boss because he is both of the above." Seriously, I think I have seen him be nice to someone who was not Pam or that other girl about once. And just because your boss is a nut doesn't mean he's not your boss.

My favorite character in "The Office" would be Michael Scott. I think he's hilarious. The moment that cracked me up the hardest out of all the episodes of "The Office" I have seen (which are not that many) was when Michael had a squeaky midi version of "My Humps" as his ringtone.

Another thing about "The Office" is that, while I am usually totally down with comedies without laugh tracks, in "The Office" I often genuinely don't know when I'm supposed to laugh. A laugh track would really help me out there, I think. Overall I guess "The Office" just doesn't jive with my sense of humor.

PoT Character Ranking Meme!

awyeah
This is a meme/quiz thing that you do to see how much you like everyone in PoT. If you really want it to work, you have to never say "I like both" because that will make it assume that you like those two the same and it will just kick one of them out and rank them wherever the other one ends up. The first time I did it there were over 50 characters tied for 3rd. So I went back and redid it with this new knowledge and the results are much more accurate! Here is the URL by the way.

Never thought I would do these for Shitenhouji, but then Tenimyu went and made them a thousand times awesomer than they were in the manga. For instance, I didn't enjoy Koharu and Yuuji very much in the manga, but in the myu they were adorable and hilarious! And Shiraishi with his poison demon hand! Mm, ah, ecstasy. KENYA is still the awesomest of all of them, and Zaizen is a pouty little kouhai with sweet earrings. Chitose's hippie clothes still crack me up. And the guy who played Gin was very much Gin. ...And that's everyone on the team! :D
